Torquay Golf Club, like England Golf, encourage that junior golf should be great fun and available to all. Providing a structured development of golfing needs for all juniors, this section is important to our club.
We offer a great introduction into golf with learning the basic points in a fun way for our new members. With excellent coaching from our Head PGA Teaching Professional James Urquhart and PGA Professional Sam Stephens, who run the Torquay Junior Academy. For your game and skills improvement Torquay Golf Club offers a full range of great practice facilities including the driving range, short game area, and putting green.

Benefits of Joining
Get to play and learn the game of golf in a fun, safe and friendly environment. You will work towards getting a handicap certificate that will enable you to measure your own progress against your friends and enter into club and regional open competitions. If you are new to golf, we have an excellent development programme. You can find out more by visiting the Torquay Academy website.
All juniors with a WHS (World Handicap System) handicap are permitted entry to main club competitions as per club rules. Juniors with a club handicap (28 -54) are only permitted to enter junior competitions. Parents are welcome to caddy for juniors subject to competition rules.

Our clubhouse bar and refreshment facilities are open to parents of junior members for the duration of their stay so after checking in for a competition or coaching you are welcome.
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable environment where young girls and boys may be introduced to the game of golf in a safe and friendly environment, Torquay Golf Club is committed to achieving SafeGolf accreditation through England Golf.
Please remember there are dress codes for the club and course. If you are unsure what they are please contact the club for details.
All our volunteers have had DBS checks prior to taking up their roles.
